Use the bait or lure and keep fishing until you reach skill level 125. You can actually fish in other places but you can get plenty of Deviate Fish in the Wailing Caverns. These fishes sell for 1 to 2 gold in the Auction House.

Once you are at level 125, go to Booty Bay and look for Old Man Hemming. You will find him in “The Happy Bobber” shop. Buy the book “Bass and You” for around 1 gold and you are now ready to be an Expert.

Buy some Aquadynamic Fish Attractor. Make sure your cooking skill level is at least 175. Go to Shadowprey Village at Desolace. Buy the Mithril Trout recipe from Wulan and start fishing at the pier. You can also try to find the Big Iron Fishing Pole hidden in one of the shellfish traps.

Continue fishing at the pier until you reach skill level 205 in fishing. You can also head for other places like Felwood, Azshara or Moonglade and fish until you reach level 225, when you will be ready to be an Artisan.
